Kevin Kilgore’s passion for pioneering solutions for individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI) goes beyond the laboratory. As one of the funded proposals in MetroHealth’s 2015 “Think Tank”, an employee competition of innovative ideas that would improve both MetroHealth and the surrounding community, the Zubizarreta House will be a new residential center for SCI patients undergoing treatment at the FESC laboratories at MetroHealth Old Brooklyn Campus.
The Zubizarreta House is a 7,000 sq ft home that will include 5 patient suites and 2 innkeeper apartments. Out of town patients and their families will have access housing with on-site support for needs specific to the SCI community.
The Zubizarreta was designed and is being constructed with the generous support and donation of Miguel Zubizarreta.
