Congratulations to FES Investigators Ahlam Salameh PhD and Elias Veizi MD, PhD, the first recipients of the FES Center’s Pilot Research Awards.
The awards are part of a new funding program created by the VA Office of Research and Development designed to encourage new research projects and initiatives by FES Center investigators.
Dr. Veizi received a Pilot Award for “exploring brain functional connectivity changes with spinal cord pattern stimulation (SCSp).”
Dr. Salameh received a Pilot Award for “Mechanistic Effects of transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation on human spinal sensorimotor and neuropathic processing in diabetic neuropathy.”
Another related new research opportunity from VA ORD is award funding for FES Center investigators initiating new AI-focused research. Look for details on this funding opportunity coming soon.
