Mapping the epileptogenic zone as well as epileptic and functional brain networks is a cornerstone principle in guiding therapeutics for patients with medically intractable epilepsy.

Accurate identification of these regions is necessary to achieve seizure freedom and avoiding functional deficits. We believe that mapping of these regions will be informed principally by clinical neurophysiologic data as well as other data points including: seizure semiology, neuroimaging, nuclear imaging, cognitive neuroscience, and neuropathology.

Therefore, we aim to:
1. Develop clinical neurophysiologic markers of the epileptogenic zone and epileptic network
2. Develop clinical neurophysiologic markers of functional networks in the brain
3. Attempt to modulate the epileptic network through use of direct cortical and subcortical electrical stimulation
