My research efforts focus on functional restoration of the paralyzed upper extremities of individuals with spinal cord injuries. My collaborators and I have developed a number of implantable neural prostheses which use electrical stimulation to control patients\u2019 muscles.<\/p>\n<p>These implants have enabled individuals with central nervous system disability to regain the ability to perform basic activities of daily living.
