Dr. Mehra is a physician scientist with a longstanding commitment of ~15 years to the investigation of clinical and translational science of sleep disorders and cardiovascular disease utilizing epidemiologic and clinical trials methods.
She is a board certified Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine physician with advanced Sleep Medicine Neurobiology and Epidemiology training via a NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award and earned a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology. She serves as an investigator on novel neurostimulation therapeutic interventions for the treatment of sleep disordered breathing such as hypoglossal nerve stimulation for obstructive sleep apnea and phrenic nerve stimulation for central sleep apnea.
