Surgical treatment of conditions of the hand and upper extremity.
I am a plastic surgeon who focuses on surgical treatment of conditions of the hand and upper extremity. My scope of practice includes trauma reconstruction, peripheral nerve surgery and includes a focus on surgical treatment and management of upper extremity amputees and tetraplegia. I have been practicing for 12 years and have published several studies and book chapters on upper extremity reconstruction and peripheral nerve surgery. I am actively involved with resident and fellow education and serve on several committees in both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
I have collaborated with MetroHealth rehabilitation research teams for over eight years, performing numerous surgeries involving implanting muscle and nerve-based electrodes, electrode leads (both percutaneous and fully implanted), IPGs of various configurations, and often with concomitant tendon and/or nerve transfers. These experiences qualify me to collaborate as a Co-Investigator on this project that requires implanting nerve cuff electrode(s) on peripheral nerves in the upper extremity, routing the electrode lead(s) percutaneously, and performing explant procedures.
